On Tuesday, Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn called for an end to Palestinian aid…
“Humanitarian aid repeatedly ends up in the hands of Hamas terrorists who use it to build rockets & kill more Israelis. We should immediately halt U.S. aid for the Palestinians.”
Well, how much aid does Biden give to Palestinians? Turns out, a lot…
According to Open The Books, a watchdog group that “work[s] hard to capture and post all disclosed spending at every level of government – federal, state, and local,” the Biden Administration has given more than $1 billion dollars in taxpayer-funded aid to Palestinians.
From Open The Books:
Our auditors at OpenTheBooks.com found that the Biden Administration spent more than $1 billion from U.S. taxpayers on “aid” to Palestinians. It proposes sending another $260 million in its FY2024 budget request, but that funding is not yet approved by Congress.
Here’s how the Biden Administration allotted U.S. taxpayer Palestinian aid through the United Nations: $318.4 million (2021), $363.9 million (2022), and $371 million (2023).
In light of the recent horrific acts carried out by Hamas in Israel, it’s not the best look for the Biden Administration to have funded, even if indirectly, some part of this terrorist regime.
But was it any different than former President Trump? Yes.
According to Open The Books, “Biden’s spending binge is a sharp reversal” from Trump.
“Disgusted by the diversion of U.S. taxpayer dollars into Hamas, PLO, and PA agendas, leaving needy Palestinians bereft, as well as the fungibility of our support possibly into rocket and arms-trading, [Trump] zeroed out the folks who refuse to recognize Israel’s right to exist.”
“Trump cut Palestinian aid to zero. That had never been tried during the previous 71 years of subsidizing Palestinians.”
Until the Biden Administration can guarantee taxpayer-funded aid won’t go into the hands of Hamas, it should consider taking a page from the Trump playbook.
