House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) is calling out the White House for “misleading” Congress and the American people by omitting key communications during the discovery phase of President Joe Biden’s classified documents investigation.
According to Just The News, “Comer revealed…the White House first learned about the documents at the university office in March 2021, even though it originally claimed the documents were found in November of the following year.”
“President Biden’s timeline was incomplete and misleading,” Comer says. “It omitted months of communications, planning, and coordinating among multiple White House officials, Ms. [Kathy] Chung, Penn Biden Center employees, and President Biden’s personal attorneys to retrieve the boxes containing classified materials. The timeline also omitted multiple visits from at least five White House employees, including Dana Remus, Anthony Bernal, Ashley Williams, Annie Tomasini, and an unknown staffer.”
“There is no reasonable explanation as to why this many White House employees and lawyers were so concerned with retrieving boxes they believed only contained personal documents and materials,” Comer continued. “The Committee believes the White House can provide important insight regarding the discrepancies between the official accounts released by the White House and President Biden’s attorney, and the explanations we have received through multiple transcribed interviews regarding the classified documents.”
An interesting timeline shift…
“The real story starts in March 2021, a year and a half before Biden’s legal team said they discovered classified documents. It appears the White House knew there were Presidential Records Act violations long before they were acknowledged publicly,” Comer said in a statement to Just the News. “The American people need answers about what was known and when it was known about President Biden’s mishandling of classified documents. The House Oversight Committee will continue to pursue the facts and deliver the transparency and accountability that Americans demand.”
The new timeline also means that the Biden Administration knew about the President’s classified documents problem before they went after former President Donald Trump for his.
Trump reacted on TRUTH Social…
“I see Crooked Joe Biden is working on his documents situation. He moved documents, many classified, all over the place for years,” Trump said. “He did everything wrong and there’s a two-tiered justice system.”
It’s hard to disagree with the former President’s assessment here.
