Joining Rob Schmitt, Eggers connected three Democratic-run institutions now swimming in red ink, scandal, or both: USAID, Minnesota’s welfare programs, and the Democratic National Committee.
“What do USAID, the Minnesota welfare program and the DNC have in common?” Eggers asked. “All three are entities that are now basically bankrupt or out of money or rife with fraud because they were run by Democrats.”
Eggers’ point: Taxpayer-funded programs and powerful nonprofit networks became political infrastructure for the left. Trump started cutting off the money. Democrats erupted.
“So why is Cory Booker screaming in unhinged rage at the elimination of fraudulent-based aid that’s going to go to all kinds of things that no one in America supports?” Eggers asked.
Trump effectively dismantled USAID and moved its surviving foreign-assistance programs into the State Department. The administration eliminated 83% of the agency’s programs during its initial review, according to Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Eggers focused in on Minnesota…
The Feeding Our Future scandal became one of America’s largest pandemic fraud cases. Federal prosecutors said the network stole about $250 million intended to feed children.
Safari Restaurant, one of the participating meal sites, received more than $16 million in fraudulent funds, according to the Justice Department.
Eggers turned his attention to Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., who appeared in a 2020 video filmed at Safari and praised its meal operation.
“She was even in the damn commercial for the restaurant that was at the center of the Feeding Our Future scandal,” Eggers said.
Schmitt then asked whether a consulting firm reportedly connected to Omar’s sister was legitimate.
“I think you know the answer to that,” Eggers replied. “What are the chances that she’s involved in only government-backed programs? I think you asked and answered, Rob.”
Trump closed the spigot. Eggers says the panic tells Americans who depended on the flow.
