Intel’s embattled CEO, Lip-Bu Tan, has concerning ties to Chinese companies, including those linked to the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. GAI President Peter Schweizer went on Larry Kudlow’s program on Fox News to highlight the People’s Republic of China’s civilian-military fusion strategy, which allows the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to pressure individuals like Tan.
Tan previously led a company called Cadence, which was fined for illegally transferring chips to Chinese entities. These ties raise national security concerns for the US, especially since Intel receives US government contracts and got $20 billion in Biden administration loans and grants.
Talking with Kudlow, Schweizer emphasized the CCP’s ability to leverage Tan’s business and family ties, urging vigilance. President Donald Trump has called for Tan’s resignation, and Intel’s board is reportedly dissatisfied with him.
