Snakes & Ladders: Rooftop Access at the Scene of the Trump Assassination Attempt Raises More Questions Than Answers

Director of Research at the Government Accountability Institute Seamus Bruner stopped by One America News Network (OAN) to speak with host Katie Smith about the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump and the litany of intelligence failures that led to that shocking moment.

Bruner says, “There are a lot of questions” – and not enough answers.

“There’s a lot of questions. How on earth what’s the deal with this ladder leading to the rooftop? Why was the Secret Service not able to protect the perimeter in the line of sight to the president?”

AP News had more information on the mysterious ladder.

“Rallygoers noticed a man climbing to the roof of a nearby building and warned local police,” the AP reported, citing two law enforcement officials. “One local police officer climbed to the roof and encountered Crooks [the shooter], who pointed his rifle at the officer. The officer retreated down the ladder, and Crooks quickly took a shot toward Trump.”

TMZ was able to locate footage of the moments surrounding the mysterious ladder incident.

Watch the footage below:

“You know, everybody kind of assumes that this could never happen — and here it has,” Bruner continues. “Trump does a lot of rallies. I don’t think he should stop doing rallies. I don’t think Americans should let their First Amendment rights be killed and be afraid to go out in public wearing MAGA gear. But this is a really scary time for everyone, and we need to know how the Secret Service failed in securing this rally.”
