Seamus Bruner, the Government Accountability Institute‘s Director of Research, recently went on One America News to discuss the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump’s life. In the interview Bruner hits on the fact that the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion hires at federal agencies – including at the United States Secret Service (USSS) – are rampant and many people have already filed complaints regarding DEI hiring practices.
Were the Secret Service agents tasked with shielding Trump really the top tier candidates to handle an assassination attempt? Below is a transcript of Bruner’s thoughts.

Bruner: Everybody’s talking about the DEI practices of the Biden administration. Biden appointed, this woman, Kimberly Cheatle, who comes from PepsiCo. I mean, what what sort of experience you want people who have, military experience, people who can secure hard targets and make sure that the president is safe at all times. And so, yeah, she’s going to have a lot to answer for.
I know that sources from within the Secret Service have complained about the DEI hiring practices. There was a petition launched by members of the Secret Service. And so, you know, you had the Boeing crisis. Now you’ve got another, Secret Service crisis. All of these agencies and companies that have been, hit with these DEI policies, it’s causing real damage.
People have lost their lives. And so I think the entirety of DEI is called into question by this tragic event.
