What exactly is President Biden doing on immigration?
It’s a tale of two Biden Administrations. On the one hand, reports circulated on Monday regarding President Biden’s plan to sign an executive order to limit the number of illegal entries at the southern border. On the other hand, Biden just offered mass amnesty to 350K migrants.
According to The New York Times, the executive order will “allow border officials to prevent migrants from claiming asylum and rapidly turn them away once border crossings exceed a certain threshold. Government officials earlier this year discussed allowing Mr. Biden to shut down the border if there were an average of 5,000 border crossings in a week, or 8,500 in a single day, but those involved in the negotiations cautioned that the threshold was not finalized and could change. White House officials have been focused on a trigger that would empower Mr. Biden to shut down the border.”
House Speaker Mike Johnson says Biden’s effort is “too little, too late.”
“He’s trying to show the American people that he wants to address the issue that he created,” Johnson said during a Fox News interview, stressing the “catastrophic effects” the wide-open southern border has had on the country.
Shortly after Biden’s executive order made the media rounds, another story — a mass amnesty story — started circulating, completely undermining Biden’s other efforts.
A report released last month by Syracuse University’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC), the Biden Administration has quietly dismissed more than 350,000 asylum claims since 2022. Poof. Gone.
These migrants will now be removed from the legal system, have no fear of deportation, and will no longer be tracked by ICE.

“The administration has granted amnesty to 350,000 illegal aliens since 2022. Don’t buy into the B.S. ‘executive action’ on the border—it’s too late. Over a quarter of a million illegal aliens are roaming our streets without fear of deportation,” Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) posted on X.
