Perhaps it was Peter Schweizer’s new bestseller Blood Money: Why the Powerful Turn a Blind Eye While China Kills Americans that finally lit a fire under members of Congress to open a probe into all the ways China is waging war against the U.S.

“It’s often said that China is in a cold war with America. The reality is far worse: the war is hot, and the body count is one-sided.” Schweizer says.

Now, James Comer and his House Oversight Committee have launched a wide-reaching probe into all areas of our government to root out CCP influence.

“Without firing a single bullet, the Chinese Communist Party is waging war against the U.S. by targeting, influencing, and infiltrating every economic sector and community in America,” Comer wrote in a statement Thursday. “We know that this coordinated influence and infiltration campaign by the CCP threatens U.S. military readiness, the technology sector, financial markets, agriculture industry, education systems, and intellectual property.”

Schweizer, who is also Government Accountability Institute president, has been asked to assist with the probe: “I’m thrilled that chairman Comer is looking into this and I look forward to helping the committee in their efforts,” Schweizer says.

Copies of Comer’s letter were sent to the Department of Justice, Department of Agriculture, Environmental Protection Agency, Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Agency for Global Media, Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, NASA, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and the National Science Foundation.

Biden administration agencies need to be “enhancing defense protocols, increasing coordination…and discouraging dangerous business, cultural and online engagement with nefarious CCP-backed entities,” a committee aide told DailyMail.com.

“The CCP has sought to destroy the U.S. on the global stage through coordinated influence and infiltration campaigns and Congress can no longer afford to sit on the sidelines,” the aide added.

Between Comer’s new probe and the bipartisan support for the TikTok bill in the House of Representatives, could it be that lawmakers are finally waking up to the threat of our greatest enemy on the international stage?
