WAIT, WHO'S HITLER? Eggers Reveals Interesting Stat About Voters Who Felt Democracy Was 'Very Threatened' [WATCH]

A historic presidential comeback — and The Drill Down crew is here with analysis…

This week, GAI President Peter Schweizer and Vice President Eric Eggers dissected the 2024 presidential race and Donald Trump’s victory in both the popular and electoral votes.

During one exchange between Peter and Eric, it’s revealed that, while voters were motivated by “threats to democracy,” they couldn’t exactly agree on who the “threat” was.

“[Voters] were told for four years that Donald Trump is Hitler. He’s a Nazi. He’s a fascist. He’s this unique threat to democracy,” Eggers said. “By the way, people who said “democracy is very threatened” —  50 % of them voted for Donald Trump.”

That’s more than voted for Harris (48 percent).

While many on the Left felt Donald Trump was a threat to democracy because of the memory of January 6, many on the Right felt Kamala Harris was a threat due to a lack of a primary process (“she was installed!”) and because of Democrats’ censorship efforts.

According to an NBC News exit poll, when asked to choose among five issues, 34% of voters said democracy mattered most to their votes, while 31% said the economy. Abortion (14%) and immigration (11%) ranked as the next-most-important issues, while just 4% named foreign policy.
