The Biden Administration is facing renewed scrutiny over its handling of the country’s exit strategy in Afghanistan. Administration supporters have suggested that the Biden administration was handcuffed by an agreement made by President Trump’s national policy team. Other reporting has indicated that there were numerous warning signs that the Afghanistan military was unprepared for the task being handed it by the American withdrawal.

According to former combat advisor with Afghan security forces and former Veteran Matt Zeller, the Afghanistan crisis that is occurring now could have been avoided. In a recent interview with MSNBC host Brian William, Zeller said the warnings were apparent for anyone that was paying attention.

“I feel like I watched a different speech than the rest of you guys. I was appalled!” Zeller also revealed, “I have been personally trying to tell this administration since it took office. I have been trying to tell our government for years that this was coming. We set them plan after plan on how to evacuate these people. Nobody listened to us.”

In the latest episode of The Drill Down, investigative journalists Peter Schweizer and Eric Eggers are joined by GAI’s new fellow, author and journalist Lee Smith, to expose the Biden Administration’s failure to retreat from Afghanistan.

Schweizer and Eggers discuss the amazing stories of private citizens who are helping the crisis and people in Afghanistan, picking up the Biden Administration’s slack.

An example is an operation in the Willard Hotel that was set up by a private equity investor in Naples has successfully rescued 5,000 Afghans to other nations.

We have American citizens like the private equity investor and Matt Zeller that are trying to fix the botched mission by the Biden Administration.

So what is the takeaway?

Peter Schweizer reveals, “This was a failure of the Biden Administration and our leadership class in America. This was not a failure of Americans.”

“Renewal must come internally.”
