The congressional race was close, and the fight is still on. With Republicans projected to flip the House of Representatives, the door has opened for many investigations promised by the GOP and its House leader, Speaker-elect Kevin McCarthy. On the latest episode of the Drill Down podcast Peter Schweizer and Eric Eggers discuss the possible investigations the new year will hold with special guest — former Congressman Jason Chaffetz.
Among the possible investigations is a probe of the business dealings of President Biden’s son, Hunter. With Republicans in charge, there may be some headway regarding witnesses, testimonies, and a requirement for individuals to provide documentation of Hunter’s ties to foreign governments.
Other areas potentially warrant inquiry, such as the Biden Administration’s withdrawal from Afghanistan and the lack of control at the southern border.
This poses the question: what else is on the list for investigation and will Republican leadership uphold its promise of change? Tune into this week’s episode of the Drill Down podcast to hear what may be in store for 2023.
