The FBI cannot be trusted to thoroughly investigate the Trump shooting…
In a recent episode of The Drill Down podcast (Heads Have to Roll), GAI President Peter Schweizer and Vice President Eric Eggers stress that the FBI cannot lead the investigation into the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump.
“There was law enforcement kind of on the ground, but nobody was paying attention to this. So heads have got a roll,” Schweizer said.
“This needs to be a fully independent investigation in my mind where you bring in law enforcement people from around the country,” Schweizer said. “Let’s tap some of that local talent. Let them have access to all the information because otherwise, it’s going to be besmirched as something that is not real and is not thorough because people are not going to trust an investigation that is led by [the FBI and the Secret Service].”
In a recent op-ed for The New York Post, James Bovard echoed Schweizer’s sentiments, arguing that the FBI can’t be trusted to investigate “fellow G-men.”

President Biden on Sunday announced an FBI investigation into the Secret Service’s astounding failure to protect Donald Trump at the rally in Butler, Pa., promising the probe would be “thorough and swift.”
But it’s folly to trust a federal law enforcement agency to obliterate interagency niceties by exposing all the foibles and flubs of fellow G-men.
Instead, we’ll likely see a vintage DC investigation along these lines: Please tell us if you screwed up. Also, is there someone else we can blame?

This is the same FBI that kowtowed when Team Biden wanted parents who protested school closures and mask mandates at school board meetings to be categorized as terrorist threats.
Conservative commentator DC_Drain on X also stresses the need for a “special committee” to investigate the assassination attempt and took a jab at The Secret Service’s DEI hiring priorities, as well.
