Here’s an interesting Sherlock Holmes quote that keeps finding its way to the forefront of my mind while making sense of Paul Pelosi’s shining example of our two-tiered justice system:
“What you do in this world is a matter of no consequence. The question is what can you make people believe you have done.”
Now, admittedly, this may have been lifted wildly out of context —I never read Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s A Study in Scarlet, but the quote does remind me of Paul Pelosi, all the same.
Yes, 82-year old, drunk-driving, Porsche wrecking, life-endangering Paul Pelosi. Why? Because he —and his cohorts —made us believe he did nothing. Zilch. Model citizen.
The Daily Mail managed to get a hold of Pelosi’s arrest report:
DailyMail.com obtained his arrest report which reveals he was driving eastbound on Walnut Lane, a quiet tree-lined street in Oakville, five miles south of the Pelosi’s vineyard in St Helena, on Saturday at 10.26pm.
He pulled out onto S-29 to try to cross it, blowing past a stop sign, and was struck by Jesus V. Lopez, a 48-year-old man driving a 2014 Jeep who was traveling northbound on the state road.
Pelosi was found to have been over the legal blood alcohol limit. He was booked on two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol content level of 0.08 or higher.
So, what the husband of the Speaker of the House has seemingly done with his latest brush with the law, is make people believe he’s done nothing. Blowing a stop sign, while drunk, and crashing into another human being adds up to, essentially nothing for Mr. Pelosi.
That’s, as Fox News host Jesse Watters puts it, Liberal Privilege.
“Nancy goes out of town, [Paul] gets drunk, smashes up his shiny new Porsche. What was he doing out so late anyway?…Police gave him a blood alcohol test —he obviously failed. But that’s when the liberal privilege kicked in. It’s been more than a week but the California Highway Police still won’t give us his mug shot,” Watters said on Jesse Watters Primetime.
“Why is this mug shot different than any other American’s mug shot? Where is the footage from the body cams…the dash cams…we can’t get a straight answer out of anyone in California.”
“The California Highway Patrol is run by a woman named Amanda Ray…Ray is a democrat appointed by Gavin Newsom. This is a political position, and it appears to be working as designed,” Watters adds.
The California Highway Patrol has not issued any public information about Pelosi’s arrest. And, not surprisingly, nothing from Nancy, either.
Quick mental exercise —put yourself in that Porsche. Is your mug shot all over the news within hours of the crash?
And you’re not married to one of the most powerful women in the free world.
