'Like Surgery on Our Spending': Peter Schweizer Loves the DOGE Cuts in D.C. [WATCH]

DOGE has a fan at The Drill Down…

GAI President and Drill Down host Peter Schweizer expressed his support for aggressive federal cuts during a recent podcast episode: “What’s actually going on is surgery,” Schweizer said.

“They are firing people, they are canceling contracts, and they are shutting down government agencies. And if you hear the word from official Washington, it is the end of the world as we know it. Well, I say it’s the end of the world as we know it, and to quote R.E.M., “I feel fine,” Schweizer said.

Schweizer continued: “The question is, if your body gets cut, right, it’s going to react, it’s going to cause chaos, your brain’s going to say, I’m in pain, I’m under attack, and your muscles are going to contract … It’s gonna cause chaos, it’s gonna cause a disruption. The question is, are you being cut because somebody is stabbing you in a violent attack or are you being cut because a surgeon is actually trying to repair something that has happened to your body?”

“It’s going to cause a lot of chaos, but surgery is good and it’s better for the body and that’s where we’re heading.”

According to reports, DOGE has already saved American taxpayers more than $110 billion dollars.

“Good progress,” DOGE head Elon Musk said on X.

While some Democrats and mainstream media pundits are calling for Musk’s removal and an end to DOGE, some say that the efficiency department isn’t going far enough.

“I think the issue is they’re not whacking enough. You go in there and you cut 20% more than your initial read. Always cut deeper when there’s fat and waste,” said Mr. Wondeful Kevin O’Leary on CNN.
