One year on, new details reveal how truly incompetent Joe Biden’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal really was for America and its interests. At the time, prominent GOP lawmakers voiced concerns that the hasty retreat meant evacuees weren’t being carefully vetted.

And now we know they were right.

According to a recent 34-page report by the Department of Homeland Security Office of the Inspector General (OIG), the DHS lacked the “critical data to properly screen, vet and inspect” Afghan evacuees; many “were not fully vetted” during the massive airlift effort.

Approximately 76,000 Afghans were evacuated during the airlift.

“U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) did not always have critical data to properly screen, vet, or inspect the evacuees,” the report by DHS Inspector General Joseph Cuffari said. “We determined some information used to vet evacuees through U.S. Government databases, such as name, date of birth, identification number, and travel document data, was inaccurate, incomplete, or missing.”

Missing?!

The OIG ultimately found that the “DHS may have admitted or paroled individuals into the United States who pose a risk to national security and the safety of local communities.”

“CBP admitted or paroled evacuees who had questionable names and dates of birth partly due to cultural differences,” the report added.

But according to CBS News, “In its response to the draft OIG report, senior DHS leadership rejected the central premise of the report and its recommendations, noting that the U.S. government vetted and inspected all Afghan arrivals at ‘lily pads,’ or overseas military bases, as well as at U.S. airports.”

Oh okay, so you did vet all…wait…do you hear a whistle blowing?

Back in late July, a whistleblower reached out to Senators Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Ron Johnson (R-WI) claiming that 324 individuals evacuated from Afghanistan were allowed to enter the U.S. despite appearing on the Defense Department’s Biometrically Enabled Watchlist (BEWL).

Sounds like DHS let suspected terrorists into the country. Now, the acting inspector general over at the Pentagon, Sean O’Donnell, says he will look into the whistleblower claims.

“Big News: Pentagon watchdog tells me and @SenRonJohnson they will open review into whether Biden Admin brought hundreds of individuals to the US who were on terrorist watch list,” Senator Hawley shared on Twitter.

Let’s hope they get to the bottom of it —and fast.
