So, here’s a swampy story…

Biden’s Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm really wants you to buy an electric vehicle. Seriously, it will solve all of your problems. Alleviate that pain at the pump! Why pay $5.00 a gallon for gas when you can save $60 a fillup with a shiny new electric vehicle?

‘If you filled up your EV [electric vehicle] and you filled up your gas tank with gasoline, you would save $60 per fill-up by going electric rather than using gasoline but it’s a very compelling case, but again, we want to bring down the price at the point of purchase,’ Granholm, the former governor of Michigan, said recently.

Granholm has also said: “If you drive an electric car, this would not be affecting you.”

That’s the pitch —here’s the catch…

According to the Daily Mail, “Granholm, who is worth $8million according to Forbes, recently served as director of an electric car company – and held millions in the firm’s stock.”

Oh, that’s interesting. So more electric vehicles on the road equals more money in Granholm’s pocket? Funny how that works out, huh? It gets worse…

“Last month she exercised stock options in the company, called Proterra, pocketing $1.6million from the transaction, according to an energy department spokesperson,” the Daily Mail reports.

So, one could argue that Granholm has a conflict here. Why fix this crisis if it’s good for your bottom line? Granholm is another green climate leftist who thinks the solution to the energy crisis is to get Americans, who are already struggling financially, to pay $56,000 for an EV.

That’s $10,000 more than the industry average for gas-powered cars.

Fellow Michigander Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) exhibits a similar tone deafness, saying record high gas prices “don’t matter” to her because she drives an electric vehicle. “On the issue of gas prices – after waiting for a long time to have enough chips in this country to finally get my electric vehicle – I got it and drove it from Michigan to here this last weekend and went by every gas station and it didn’t matter how high it was,” Stabenow said.

That must have been so nice for her and the $174,000 salary she drove in on. That’s three times the average household income in Michigan by the way.

When it comes to what’s important to American voters, all  polls are pointing in the same direction: the economy. Inflation and gas prices are absolutely killing the middle class and Biden and his fellow Democrats aren’t taking this crisis seriously.

Granholm’s getting rich —what’s everyone else’s excuse?
