CBS fires the only reporter investigating Hunter Biden? Here comes Jim Jordan…

According to a New York Post report, House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan has launched a probe into the firing of veteran reporter and Hunter Biden laptop investigator Catherine Herridge.

Herridge had a history of digging into Hunter Biden’s laptop and her personal files were seized upon her firing earlier this week.

“They never seize documents [when you’re let go],” a source close to the network said. “They want to see what damaging documents she has.”

Now, Jim Jordan wants answers…

“Upon terminating Ms. Herridge, CBS News, ‘in an ‘unprecedented move,’ allegedly seized Ms. Herridge’s personal files [that] most likely contain confidential material from [Ms.] Herridge’s stints at both Fox and CBS. 7 This move by CBS News has reportedly left many staffers shaken because the network want[s] to see what damaging documents [Ms. Herridge] Has,” Jordan said in a letter sent to CBS News President Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews on Friday.

“The unprecedented actions of CBS News threaten to chill good journalism and ultimately weaken our nation’s commitment to a free press,”

Jordan is demanding all documents associated with the firing of Ms. Herridge and “A briefing to the Committee concerning the individual(s) at Paramount Global, CBS Broadcasting, Inc., or CBS News who made the decision to terminate Ms. Herridge.”

CBS is denying any wrongdoing in the termination of Ms. Herridge.

“We have respected her request to not go through the files, and out of our concern for confidential sources, the office she occupied has remained secure since her departure,” a spokesperson for CBS told The Post.

“We are prepared to pack up the rest of her files immediately on her behalf – with her representative present as she requested.”

Let’s see if Jordan and his Judiciary Committee can get some answers…
