More bad news out of the Bureau…
During a recent interview with Univision, former President and 2024 GOP frontrunner Donald Trump shared his thoughts on the current state of the FBI. Trump acknowledges that President Biden has “unleashed something” in weaponizing, what’s supposed to be, an apolitical agency.
“We’ve watched other countries do it and, in some cases, effective and in other cases, the country’s overthrown or it’s been totally ineffective,” Trump said. “But we’ve watched this for a long time, and it’s not unique, but it’s unique for the United States.”
At his campaign rallies and during sitdown interviews, Trump is constantly railing against the dangers of a weaponized FBI —and we know from whistleblower reports that his concerns aren’t baseless. Take, for example, the latest report that agents who may be Trump supporters are being targeted inside the Bureau.
According to a report from The Washington Times, “More whistleblowers have stepped forward to tell Congress that high-ranking FBI officials are targeting agents for their political beliefs and trying to force them out of the bureau, specifically going after former military members.”
Pro-military = Pro-Trump as far as the FBI is concerned.
“The Marine Corps and other military veterans at the FBI are being accused of being disloyal to the U.S. because they fit the profile of a supporter of former President Donald Trump, according to two new disclosures sent to lawmakers on the House Judiciary Committee,” WT reports.
The whistleblowers claim that FBI Security Division Deputy Assistant Director Jeffrey Veltri and Assistant Section Chief Dena Perkins target agents who served in the military. Pro-military (presumed pro-Trump) agents would be subjected to discipline including revoked security clearances and accusations that these agents were “disloyal to the United States of America.”
“In these cases there was no indication that any of the individuals had any affiliation to a foreign power or held any belief against the United States,” the whistleblower disclosures said.
Pro-military was considered “radical.” What else does the FBI consider “radical?”
“Ms. Perkins and Mr. Veltri also considered not wearing masks, refusing to take the COVID-19 vaccination, and participating in religious activities showed that an employee was a ‘right-wing radical and disloyal to the United States,’” WT reports.
“The FBI does not target or take adverse action against employees for exercising their First Amendment rights or for their political views; to allege otherwise is false and misleading. The FBI is required to follow established policies and procedures, to include a thorough investigation, when suspending or revoking a security clearance,” the FBI told WT.
The FBI has a credibility and integrity problem; it may be time to clean house…
