Stick with me here…

Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is a bit like Heath Ledger’s Joker in The Dark Knight, specifically when he confesses he doesn’t have a plan: “I just do things,” he says.

That’s AOC. No plan. She a bomb thrower —she just says things. And, more times than not, those comments reflect negatively on America and are used by our enemies in an attempt to embarrass us and hurt our standing on the international stage. Here’s an example…

Chinese Communist Party-controlled Xinhua News Agency took an AOC rant on the recent wave of mass shootings, and ran with this headline: U.S. lawmaker characterizes rate of school shootings as “mark of global shame”: report.

Below that, a giant AOC portrait with the following quote: “For all the billions and trillions that this body authorizes in the name of national security, we can’t even keep our kids safe from their school being turned into a war-zone,” says Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

And for all the inflammatory quotes they pulled from AOC, “mark of global shame” doesn’t appear once. But the damage, as they say, is done. The CCP propaganda arm loves AOC —and according to the Washington Free Beacon, she loves them back.

“Ocasio-Cortez has a long relationship with Chinese state-controlled media,” the Washington Free Beacon reported last year. “She thanked the newspaper Sing Tao, whose owners are members of a Chinese Communist Party advisory group, for covering a June 2020 roundtable discussion. She also paid the paper that month and in April 2021 to run ads.”

Why is she paying Chinese state-controlled media outlets? WFB has the scoop.

“Her campaign paid $728 to Sing Tao in April 2021 for ads touting the coronavirus vaccine and $2,755 for ads in June 2020, according to filings with the Federal Election Commission.”

Okay, $3,500 isn’t a fortune —but context is important. Sing Tao is a pro-Beijing media outlet. And, according to WFB, “Its owners are members of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, a government advisory group controlled by the Chinese Communist Party.”

That’s bad —but just how bad is it?

“One of the owners, Charles Ho, last year defended a national security law that has been used to arrest pro-democracy journalists in Hong Kong.”

The DOJ also required Sing Tao to register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act to help track its influence on the United States.

Why does China love AOC? Because she makes America look ridiculous.

They love that.
