While Americans may be frustrated to see the Senate lurch towards its summer recess without passing the SAVE America Act or releasing documents that show the extent of FBI complicity in the 2016 Russiagate investigation of Donald Trump, “the establishment thinks they are crushing it, because they’re doing exactly what they’re designed to do,” said GAI Vice President Eric Eggers.
“They’re not passing the Save America Act. They’re not turning over documents that would expose the entire country just how complicit members of the FBI and other deep state intelligence officials were during this Russiagate collusion while President Trump himself was president,” Eggers told Christina Bobb on Newsmax. “There’s this entire movement afoot which says: ‘We want to see actual reforms passed. We want to see voter ID passed. We want to see corrupt intelligence officials held accountable. And we don’t want to see the Senate continue to look out for each other.’”
Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) has been under pressure to pass the SAVE America act, which would tighten voter ID requirements nationally. The Senate has also resisted releasing archival investigative documents that shed light on what senior leaders of the FBI were doing to push the Russia collusion story against Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign against former Democratic Sec. of State Hillary Clinton.
“I worked with Peter Schweizer, and we wrote a book called Clinton Cash that exposed the very real crimes the Clintons committed on behalf of Russia,” Eggers told Bobb. “That investigation was actively quashed by the FBI [in 2016] while they were deciding to pursue this fake Russia outrage investigation. It just shows you the priorities of the American people have been dismissed or ignored for a decade or more by the political establishment.”
“Unfortunately,” he concluded, “the rest of these kind of mainstream political establishments, like the United States Senate and the intelligence deep-state apparatus, have yet to catch on.”
