China Bought Itself an American Mayor -- Seamus Bruner joins Will Cain Show

The exposure of Eileen Wang, former mayor of Arcadia, California, as an illegal agent of the Chinese Communist Party is just the most recent in a pattern of Chinese infiltration of American politics, said Seamus Bruner of the Government Accountability Institute (GAI).

“We could fill an entire hour going with case study after case study. Peter Schweizer and our team filled book after book with documented examples at every level,” Bruner told journalist Will Cain.

“Starting at the top: the 46th president of the United States, Joe Biden, told us China is not a threat,” Bruner said. “Meanwhile his brother and his son were bagging $31 million from individuals tied to Chinese intelligence. Hunter (Biden’s son) called his business partner ‘the effing spy chief of China,’” Bruner said. This research was reported in GAI’s books Secret Empires, and again in the book Profiles in Corruption.

The pattern of Chinese infiltration was particularly strong in California.

“Governor Newsom flung open the golden gates to Chinese spies, Huawei, and a bunch of other intellectual property thieves through his China S.F. venture,” which GAI also reported in the book, Fool’s Gold.

Newsom, Bruner recalls, “was mentored by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who had a chauffeur for decades that was a CCP spy,” Bruner said. “While she was Attorney General of California, Kamala Harris looked the other way on multiple Chinese spy rings… Her running mate to become the next vice president, Tim Walz, invited CCP officials to his gubernatorial inauguration.”

GAI’s research, Bruner tells Cain, describes a decades-long, multi-level penetration of American politics by Beijing.

“And it continues,” he said. “You just had Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) roll out the red carpet to CCP professors at the U.S. Capitol, lecturing us on AI safety. It’s an outrage.”
