Schweizer exposes how Bernie Sanders and the DSA are helping China win

After left-wing Sen. Bernie Sanders stood with Chinese scientists to push for limits on artificial, intelligence research, author Peter Schweizer commented Sanders is “no technological wizard” and highlighted the worrying cooperation between the Democratic Socialists of America organization and Beijing.

“But Sanders’s cozying up with Chinese scientists on AI research goes to the heart of where the Democratic Socialists of America are. Bernie Sanders is a member of that political organization, and they want statist control,” Schweizer said. “They’re not quite the CCP, but they’re pretty darn close.”

Schweizer, author of the recent #1 bestseller The Invisible Coup and two other books on Chinese efforts to weaken the US politically, technologically, and socially, added “this reflects Sanders’s naivete about China. He used to be much more critical of China. Lately, he has been less so, and it’s a horrible mistake. China is only getting to engage in negotiations to restrict AI to the extent that it harms us and benefits them… They are not going to honor any agreement.”

Appearing on Fox News with host Brian Kilmeade, Schweizer also addressed the problem of more than a half-million Chinese students who attend US universities each year, sometimes being caught and deported for attempted industrial espionage.

“You’ve got 600,000 Chinese students in the United States right now. They were selected before they came here for their political reliability, said Schweizer, who is the president of the Government Accountability Institute. “But even if you’re a student in the United States and you don’t want to get involved in espionage, the Chinese government can force you to do so. They can do things to your family back home. They can take away your grant money. There are all kinds of pressures.”

“These are all, potentially, individuals who are going to be stealing our technology. And they’re here to study technology, not comparative literature and whatnot. We need to be wise about it and are moving more in that direction. But you still have a lot of apologists who pretend that this sort of stuff is not actually happening,” Schweizer said. “It is.”

Kilmeade asked Schweizer about President Trump’s negotiations with Panama to take control of management of the Panama Canal away from the Chinese-owned company that currently does so. “We’re just finding out now that China is angry that we talked to the Panamanian government and said, ‘Do a deal with us now with China. We don’t want them to control that pinch point,’ and they’re angry about it.”

Schweizer replied, “The strategy Donald Trump has carried out in his second term is a grand strategy around China and looking for opportunities to cost China.” Whether it’s stopping the below-cost oil prices they were getting from Venezuela and Iran, or control of the Panama Canal, “what Trump has really done is to push them back. He has them on the run, and they’re looking for opportunities to fight back,” he said.

“Trump clearly has the upper hand in the competition with China,” Schweizer said. “They are going to fight back because they rely on this “One Belt, One Road” initiative to advance their interests.”

“Let’s talk about the Democratic Socialists of America and the link that they have with the Chinese government. Evidently, there has been mutual outreach between DSA, who helped put a mayor in New York and a mayor in Seattle.”

“There are clear linkages,” said Schweizer. GAI has been doing research into the connections between American-born billionaire Neville Roy Singham, now a resident of Shanghai who confers regularly with CCP officials, and various communist-aligned groups in the US.

“The Democratic Socialists of America used to be run by a guy named Michael Harrington. He was a democratic socialist and did not like the Soviet Union or communism,” Schweizer said.

Now, however, “This is a very different DSA. They have become very pro-Beijing,” Schweizer told Kilmeade. “There is a lot of crossover leadership between the Democratic Socialists of America, which includes Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders, and more radical groups like the Party for Socialism and Liberation and the Freedom Road Socialist Organization.”
