During a recent television appearance promoting new book, The Invisible Coup, GAI President and best-selling author Peter Schweizer accused Mexico of being “actively involved in organizing the resistance to Donald Trump”: “That’s not my words, that’s what Mexican officials who live inside the U.S. say,” Schweizer said.
Schweizer pointed to groups on the ground in Minneapolis stoking anti-ICE unrest.
That set up a direct rebuttal on Sunday Morning Futures, where Mexico’s ambassador to the U.S., Esteban Moctezuma Barragán, pushed back on Schweizer’s research.
“I think that facts are much better than opinions, and I just want to tell you that when he says we’re working against President Trump, you know the votes of Latinos for President rose from 28 percent in 2016 and 48 percent in 2025. Mexican migration has been dropping constantly since 2000. And so what do you say? What do you see is that reality offers a very different view. The Mexican and United States governments are working very, very closely in order to tackle the migratory issue,” the Ambassador said.
Schweizer wasted no time responding to the ambassador: “The Ambassador talks of facts versus opinions. Well, here’s a fact for him: My book directly quotes several Mexican officials urging direct political action in our elections. Their words, not mine.”

And the dispute over Schweizer’s bombshell book didn’t stop there.
Mexico’s president, Claudia Sheinbaum, also denied claims described in Schweizer’s latest book — specifically, that Mexico uses its consulates to sway U.S. elections.
At a Thursday press conference, Sheinbaum refused to name him directly, referring instead to “a person who wrote a book,” and rejected the allegation outright.
“Yesterday, the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs issued a statement. It involves a person who wrote a book, claiming that through our consulates, we are engaging in politics for or within the United States,” Sheinbaum said. “This is absolutely false. Consulates have a role determined by international laws, and what our consulates essentially do is provide protection and assistance to Mexicans in the United States.
“That is their job; it is fundamental and that is what they are dedicated to do.”

Every day, ICE is arresting hundreds of illegal immigrants with a criminal record. They didn’t just come here. They were sent here.
Our debates about immigration revolve around what happens with immigrants once they arrive. We need to start talking about who is sending them and why. For decades, establishment elites sold us the story of immigration as a compassionate renewal of the American Dream within a harmonious melting pot.
But beneath that narrative lies a different reality: Mass migration has morphed into the most powerful political weapon ever aimed at the United States—one engineered by elites at home and aided by adversaries abroad. Now Peter Schweizer, the bestselling investigative journalist of our time, is blowing the lid off this whole series of schemes.
Schweizer detonates a political shock wave eclipsing his past bombshells, revelations that have sparked FBI probes and bipartisan reforms.
Urgent, shocking, and overflowing with national security implications, The Invisible Coup makes America’s greatest political threat visible for all to see—and solve.
