President Trump just dropped a constitutional thunderbolt, declaring that every pardon and commutation Joe Biden issued with an autopen is officially void.
In a stunning move, Trump said the mechanical signature used by his predecessor doesn’t cut it for presidential mercy, and that the clemency actions stamped by machine are now wiped clean.
“Any and all Documents, Proclamations, Executive Orders, Memorandums, or Contracts, signed by Order of the now infamous and unauthorized ‘AUTOPEN,’ within the Administration of Joseph R. Biden Jr., are hereby null, void, and of no further force or effect,” Trump wrote on TRUTH Social this week.
Could this be the beginning of a much bigger reckoning?
“Anyone receiving ‘Pardons,’ ‘Commutations,’ or any other Legal Document so signed, please be advised that said Document has been fully and completely terminated, and is of no Legal effect. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
During a recent media appearance, GAI Vice President Eric Eggers weighed in on Trump’s controversial decision. Eggers argued that Biden’s declining faculties, paired with the family’s grip on power, likely opened the door for unelected handlers to steer major decisions. The autopen, he said, isn’t the scandal — it’s the evidence of something larger. A trailhead.
“It’s just this really bizarre combination of a president whose faculties were rapidly in decline and a mechanism that removed his need actually to be involved and make things happen from the office,” Eggers said. “This should be the beginning, not the end of further investigations … This is the beginning of what it looks like. The whole deep State is accountable.”
Eggers hopes accountability comes next. The Biden White House misled the public on policy decisions, the president’s mental state, and more. And this — Trump voiding the autopen orders — is the first step toward exposing deep-state influence and rebuilding public trust.
