Peter Schweizer and Eric Eggers of the Government Accountability Institute joined Steve Bannon’s War Room to revisit their groundbreaking work on the Clintons. They detailed how Clinton Cash exposed pay-to-play corruption, from foreign money funneled through speaking fees and foundation donations to uranium deals that benefited Russia.
Appearing on the heels of a JustTheNews story that revealed the timeline of FBI and DoJ interference in a 2015-16 investigation into the Clinton Foundation, Schweizer and Eggers also connected the Clintons’ methods to the Biden family’s later influence-peddling. Hosts of The DrillDown podcast, Schweizer and Eggers outlined how higher-ups at the DOJ shut down FBI field investigations into the Clintons while promoting the fabricated Trump-Russia hoax. They further examined the Clintons’ exploitation of Haiti after the 2010 earthquake and underscored how their corruption model still reverberates today, with reports of new grand jury probes into the Clinton Foundation.
“In the book, we showed that the Clintons were taking huge sums of money in the forms of speaking fees that Bill Clinton was getting while Hillary was the secretary of state. This was coming from foreign sources like Russia and China, these very corrupt corners of the Earth,” Schweizer said. “And the Clinton Foundation itself was getting large donations from people that were getting favors from the State Department. They were getting Haitian reconstruction contracts. That was the genesis of the book. It was a paper trail. — a money trail. And I would argue that it laid down the pattern which the Bidens followed later with regards to China.”
Eggers added that former President Bill Clinton, after he left the presidency, gave 13 speeches for which he was paid over half a million dollars. Eleven of those speeches came after his wife Hillary became secretary of state. “As Peter likes to say, either he became a better speaker, or people realized that the front door to the State Department came in Bill’s wallet.”
