Two countries you don’t want shaking hands and smiling for the camera after a multi-billion dollar agreement: China and Saudi Arabia. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened over the weekend at the Arab-China Business Conference.
The Saudis want to “collaborate” with the CCP —let that sink in for a moment.
According to The Daily Caller, “Saudi Arabia wishes to avoid a ‘zero-sum game’ and does not want to ‘compete’ with its largest trading partner, China, Saudi Arabian Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman said during the 10th Arab-China Business Conference in Riyadh.”
“Underscoring the nations’ deepening ties, Chinese electric car manufacturer Human Horizons sealed a $5.6 billion deal with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Investment on the same day, making up approximately half of the over $10 billion in investments inked during the conference thus far.”
“We came to recognize the reality of today that China is taking, had taken a lead, will continue to take that lead. We don’t have to compete with China, we have to collaborate with China,” Saudi Arabian Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman told CNBC.
Does the Biden White House truly understand what this means? Let’s check in…
“We’re not asking anyone to choose between the United States and China,” Blinken said Thursday, according to The Times. “The United States remains the number one partner of choice for, I think, most countries in the region.”
You may not be asking anyone to choose, Mr. Blinken, but that doesn’t mean countries aren’t making the choice. The relationship between Saudi Arabia and the U.S. has grown increasingly tense in the wake of several failed attempts to get oil prices down for the American people.
Instead, the Saudis have taken steps to raise the prices —an embarrassing development for both President Biden and the State Department.
“We are Saudi Arabia, we don’t have to be engaged in what I call a zero-sum game. We believe that there are so many global opportunities,” bin Salman told CNBC on Sunday.
Opportunities like cozying up to the CCP? Let’s not forget that, according to Reuters, Saudi Arabia exported 87.49 million tonnes of crude oil to China in 2022, making it the communist nation’s largest supplier of crude oil for the year.
With the Saudis holding the oil and China having a near monopoly on elements required to build electronic batteries for the left’s green new deal, America is being put in a very uncomfortable position —one where we’ll have to rely on our rivals.
Unless, Mr. Biden is ready to drill, baby, drill.
