The Democrats have introduced a bill and woo boy…

More than 162,000  border encounters were logged in March, a 32,000 migrant increase compared to February. Border Patrol members are constantly speaking out about being underfunded, understaffed, overworked and, oh yeah, —shot at!

But Democrats have a plan to make their jobs even harder.

According to a Fox News report, squad member Rep. Pramila Jayapal ( D-WA), and Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) have introduced The Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act, which would drastically expand the list of illegal migrants who cannot be detained at the border.

Now, on the one hand, as Fox News reports, the bill would “bar the use of private detention facilities and make sure government-run facilities meet minimum standards as defined by the American Bar Association.”

“Our immigration system has allowed for the unjust treatment of immigrants and stripped them of their humanity and due process,” Booker said in a Thursday statement. “We must respect and protect the basic rights of immigrants detained in the United States.”

Okay so far…but what else does it do?

“The bill goes further by seeking to exempt several groups of illegal aliens from any detention at all,” Fox reports. “It creates a ‘special rule for vulnerable persons and primary caregivers,’ and says these aliens “may not be detained” unless DHS can demonstrate that it is ‘unreasonable or not practicable to place the alien in a community-based supervision program.’”

“Vulnerable persons?” Who qualifies as “vulnerable persons?”

[Takes a deep breath] Anyone under 21-years-old or over 60-years-old; anyone who”identified as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or intersex; anyone who witnessed a crime; anyone who has filed a civil rights lawsuit; anyone with a “serious mental or physical illness or disability.”

And migrants with “limited English language proficiency.”

Two things: first, that just about covers everyone. Second, how many migrants are going to identify as LGBTQ+ the minute they realize it’s a free pass into America?

“This bill is a crucial step forward to bringing due process back to our immigration system and centering the humanity and dignity of people who come to our country to build a better life,” said Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA), another sponsor.

No, Mr. Smith —it’s a disaster.
