You can add “eating their way in” to the list of ways immigrants are getting into the country.
According to a new whistleblower report, the Biden administration is finding some strange reasons for releasing immigrants into the country rather than deporting them according to law. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA), and Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-MT) shared their concerns in a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
“Numerous aliens with standing prior orders of removal are being released from Customs and Border Protection (CBP) custody . . . in direct violation of 8 USC 1231(a)(5),’ the federal law that requires an alien’s final order of removal to be reinstated after the alien reenters the U.S. The whistleblower explained that CBP is turning over only about 25 percent of illegal aliens to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for detention, and that most have been released for absurd reasons including high body mass index. The whistleblower said that illegal aliens are literally eating themselves to obesity in order to be released.”
“At a time when the Biden-Harris Administration is spreading confusion and fear about COVID-19, DHS has left our southern border wide open for hundreds of thousands of aliens who are unvaccinated and potentially COVID-19 positive,” the letter continues.
The congressmen close the letter by requesting COVID-19 testing statistics from immigrants in custody declaring, “the DHS has left our southern border wide open for hundreds of thousands of aliens who are unvaccinated and potentially COVID-19 positive.”
U.S. Customs and Border Patrol recorded more than 200,000 encounters in the month of July, according to David Shahoulian, assistant secretary for border and immigration policy at the DHS.
Crossings are up more than 400% from July of last year.
Despite the alarming spike in crossings, the Biden administration has failed to act in any meaningful way – and at least one Republican is calling for impeachment. Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) sent a tweet this week stating, “ The Border is in total chaos. #ImpeachBiden #ImpeachMayorkas #Title42 #BidenBorderCrisis.”
