The Misrepresentation May Be an Attempt to Quell Liberal Outrage Over ICE.

During a recent trip to Arizona, President Biden was asked by Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy why he wasn’t planning on visiting the border —Arizona and Texas are ground zero for a migrant crisis that has spilled into the entire country,

“Why go to a border state and not visit the border?” Doocy asked.

“Because there are more important things going on,” Biden responded. “They’re going to invest billions of dollars in a new enterprise.”

Last month, White House press secretary dismissed all GOP border visits as “political stunts.”

But the Biden Administration knows the numbers don’t look good down south —a record number 73,000 “gotaways” were logged in November; Since the fiscal year started on Oct. 1, there have already been 137,000 “gotaways” counted, sources told Fox News.

Now we know, according to an exclusive Daily Caller report, that the Biden Administration may be intentionally downplaying the number of migrants released into the U.S. with a GPS tracker.

“Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is significantly misreporting the number of illegal immigrants released into the country with GPS tracking technology by nearly 600%,” according to an internal document exclusively obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

“ICE disclosed privately to participants of a closed-door event about the agency’s ‘Alternatives to Detention’ Thursday, attended by ICE Director Tae Johnson along with several agency officials and non-profits, that 8,118 illegal immigrants are monitored with GPS tracking through the program as of Nov. 14. Publicly, however, ICE says on its website that 56,805 illegal immigrants are monitored by GPS as of Nov. 19,” The Caller reports.

“The Biden administration is telling their anti-enforcement friends one thing, while telling the public something entirely different,” Former ICE Chief of Staff Jon Feere told the DCNF.

“This massive discrepancy raises the question of whether Biden’s appointees at ICE are lying about other data points. ICE enforcement data has been at the center of litigation over the administration’s controversial policies, but have judges been misled?” Feere added.

It’s possible.

Now that House GOP members hold the gavels, we can only hope to get a clear picture of the kind of chaos going down at the border —and a clear plan on how to fix it.
