This is discouraging…
Early reports revealed that U.S. intelligence knew about the spy balloon before it was lazily hovering over sensitive American nuclear sites. Now, according to multiple reports, we know just how long U.S. authorities were aware of the Chinese spy balloon: one week.
That’s an eternity on the national stage. One week is more than enough time for prominent enemies of the United States to draw the conclusion that we can be spied on without repercussions —we’re chumps and our President is the king of chumps.
On February 2nd, U.S. intelligence agencies acknowledged the spy balloon, resulting in Secretary of State Antony Blinken canceling his visit to China which, as far as reactions go, is weak tea.
According to The Daily Wire, Blinken reportedly told China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi in a call that “the presence” of a suspected Chinese spy balloon in “U.S. airspace is a clear violation of U.S. sovereignty and international law.”
…so I’m not coming to your party.
The U.S. then waited two more days to shoot down the spy balloon off the coast of South Carolina —but the thing spent 8 DAYS in the air. “The Chinese balloon that flew above the U.S. for eight days included “multiple antennas” capable of collecting signals intelligence, a senior State Department official said Thursday, and the balloon maker has proven ties to the Chinese military,” NBC news reported.
So after failing to shoot down an actual spy balloon flying over sensitive military sites in U.S. airspace, the Biden Administration then decides to go on a shooting spree, taking down 3 “unidentified aerial phenomenons.”
Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) explained on Twitter that no one still seems to know what is going on.
“We still don’t know what these other 3 objects were. We’re calling them unidentified aerial phenomenons (UAPs),” Crenshaw said. “We knew exactly what the China spy balloon was, and immediate steps were taken to stop its data from being sent to China.”
“Immediate steps” is a generous assessment and let’s not even address the fact that now the Biden Administration appears to be shooting at anything that floats.
God help us.
