According to an FBI whistleblower who spoke to The Washington Times, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has been attempting to conceal the number of man-hours devoted to investigating the riot at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. After two years, 964 people have been charged.

But what else is the bureau spending its time on?

“According to a whistleblower disclosure submitted to Congress, a top official in the FBI’s counterterrorism unit at the Washington headquarters pressured the bureau’s field offices to stop agents from clocking hours when they are working on investigations related to the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol,” the Times reports.

“The supervisors in the field offices were told the agents should instead claim they were working on international terrorism and other investigations when recording hours in the FBI’s time and attendance system, known as WebTA,” the Times adds.

The FBI is denying the allegations but has refused to elaborate. This isn’t the first time we’re hearing about the FBI fudging numbers indicative of some kind of agenda.

As previously reported by The Drill Down…

According to FBI whistleblowers, the bureau is pressuring agents to reclassify existing cases as “domestic terrorism,” despite a total lack of evidence, in an effort to make the “threat” seem much larger than it is. Late last year, The Drill Down reported on “threat tags” that were created by the FBI to track instances of school board harassment.

I guess they figure they made the tags, they might as well use them.

Ranking member on the House Judiciary Committee Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) wrote a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray asking about the reclassifications, saying “the FBI…padding its domestic violent extremist data cheapens actual examples of violent extremism.”

Soon-to-be head of the House Judiciary Committee Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) is actively encouraging whistleblowers to come forward and ensuring their protection; Jordan says the FBI has been politicized and weaponized.

And this new bit of information, if true, only supports his claims.
