The number may be small —but the number isn’t the point…

According to a Fox News report, Manhattan Judge Juan Merchan has refused to recuse himself from the hush money case involving former President and 2024 frontrunner Donald Trump and adult film star Stormy Daniels.

Merchan insists he can be “fair and impartial.”

Fox News reports Merchan donated $15 to Biden’s presidential campaign, $10 to the Progressive Turnout Project, and $10 to Stop Republicans during the 2020 election cycle.

…so there’s no question where his political allegiances lay.

“The donations at issue are self-evident and require no further clarification,” Merchan wrote.

Trump’s lawyers also argued that Merchan won’t be impartial due to his daughter’s role at a digital firm that has done work for President Biden’s campaign.

According to CNN, “[T]he New York State Advisory Committee on Judicial Ethics weighed in on the judge’s daughter’s employment in May, issuing an opinion finding “nothing in the inquiry to suggest that the outcome of the case could have any effect on the judge’s relative, the relative’s business, or any of their interests.”

“Defendant has failed to demonstrate that there exists concrete, or even realistic reasons for recusal to be appropriate, much less required on these grounds,” Merchan wrote. “The speculative and hypothetical scenarios offered by Defendant fall well short of the legal standard.”

The trial is scheduled to begin in March 2024.

And so, the judge presiding over Donald Trump’s hush money case is someone who donated to anti-Trump causes and has a relative that makes pro-Biden propaganda.

Sound fair?
