AI for Economy, Energy, and Humanity: Can SuperIntelligence Save the Planet?

Those concerned about the future of humanity often point to renewable energy or space exploration as areas of endeavor that will become increasingly important. The advances that are likely to come from artificial intelligence (AI), however, could help us achieve these goals as well as others yet unknown. We’ve already seen rapid improvements in the operation of computing devices within our own lifetimes, but they pale in comparison to what the future may bring. “Superintelligent” AIs could in fact hold the key to solving some of the greatest problems of our time: climate change, geopolitical strife, and inequality in all forms may be assessed and even eliminated with the assistance of a God-like computer mind.
