After much neglect of topical news over the last couple of shows, Reg, Mu and Andy threaten to overwhelm you with more than you can handle. Radiohead leads the charge of musicians leaving the labels, Apple opens iPhone’s SDK, EA wants one platform to rule them all, and then…”Lightning Round”!

I attended E for All 2007 this weekend. E for All is the new videogame expo, open to the public, that replaces the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), since E3 has closed itself off to all but industry professionals and media.
I have to say that as someone who has attended nearly every E3 since its inception, I was incredibly underwhelmed by this new incarnation. Nintendo and EA were the only top-tier developers in attendance, and where the expo used to fill the entire convention center, now it only fills most of one hall.
The good news for me was since audience attendance was also relatively sparse, the wait to play the games was pretty short. Super Mario Galaxy, The Simpsons Game, and Link’s Crossbow Training were the standout games for me. Rock Band and Metal Gear Solid 4 also looked promising.
I intended to record an episode of The Drill Down at the show, but honestly there wasn’t enough gripping content to justify a podcast. I did however take plenty of pics. Take a look…
